Developing a distinctive, safe and attractive experience.
In October 2015, businesses in Newcastle town centre voted in favour of creating a Business Improvement District (BID) for Newcastle-under-Lyme. We work with our partners to deliver our three major objectives: to promote Newcastle; develop a distinctive Newcastle experience; and to foster growth, development and investment.
There is lots more information in the BID Business Plan.
The BID is a not-for-profit company which is operated by a management team, governed by a board, and works closely with other partner organisations to lobby, support and deliver a range of projects and events. The BID is funded mainly by a levy which is based on the rateable value of businesses within the BID area.
OBJECTIVE 1
We develop and promote the strengths and characteristics of Newcastle-under-Lyme as a vibrant university market town. We build awareness of Newcastle's retail, leisure and professional service sectors and its college, locally and regionally.
From web and social media, radio advertising and PR and marketing campaigns, we're making great strides in making sure people in Staffordshire and beyond know what's on offer in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
OBJECTIVE 2
We're developing a distinctive, safe, attractive and appealing experience for visitors, students, residents and workers in Newcastle-under-Lyme to enjoy.
Our exciting events programme takes in everything from live music and festivals to a Christmas lights switch-on and professional cycle races. BID ambassadors work with partners to ensure that a night out in Newcastle is enjoyable and safe. We sponsor the town's gold medal-winning Britain in Bloom campaign to make sure we have an attractive and floral town centre.

We are building on the strengths of the businesses and organisations of Newcastle-under-Lyme to support and promote growth, development, investment and a sense of business community.
We support regeneration developments across the borough, not just in the BID area, and work closely with partners to make sure that business's views are taken into account.
Regular meetings and online communication ensures businesses are kept fully up top date with news and developments.
