Become a Voluntary Member of Newcastle-under-Lyme BID

Established in 2015, Newcastle-Under-Lyme BID is democratically elected by 307 businesses from a diverse range of businesses from the professional, retail, cultural, and educational sectors.

Once elected, every business within the BID area with a rateable value of £12,001+  must pay a BID Levy based on 1.5% of their rateable value to fund the BID and its many projects which include street cleaning, bringing events to increase footfall into the town centre, boosting skills and training for their employees and welcoming visitors to the town.

If a business has a rateable value of £12,001 or less, they are exempt from joining the BID, however, being part of Newcastle-under-Lyme BID has certain advantages and businesses who are located in the BID area and are under the levy paying threshold may want to become a Voluntary BID Member.

As a Voluntary Member, you will receive through place marketing and place management, the advantages and opportunities our current levy payers receive.

The price of Annual Membership is based on your property’s Rateable Value (RV). The annual membership fee for businesses within the inner ring road of Newcastle-under-Lyme is 1.5% and businesses in the outer ring road paying 1%. (e.g the levy fee for a business with a RV of £10,000 in the town centre would pay £150).
