Appetite and Newcastle BID Presents… DUST Rising’s Every Other Seat
Every Other Seat is an exhibition created and curated by DUST Rising and brought to Newcastle-under-Lyme by Appetite and Newcastle BID. Every Other Seat features chairs transformed by artists into works of art! All 15 of the seats are unique and individual, created in response to the pandemic’s impact on the arts.
And now we are thrilled to be bringing them to Newcastle-under-Lyme Town Centre as a reminder of the importance of artists and performers to our communities. Along with the original 15 seats, we are excited to share 4 new additions to the exhibition, created by students at Regent College.
In March, we welcome 7 new artist Seat commissions to a new window in the city centre, along with 2 poetry commissions. This will also include seats from art students at Newcastle College (more info to follow).
The seats can be seen in the window of ex-Dorothy Perkins store at the Roebuck Centre and in the window of the old Lancaster Building, Newcastle from Tues 16 February to late April (date TBC).
