Be Bowled Over by Lymelight Lane’s Latest Addition!

Established bowling alley, Lymelight Lanes in Lymelight Boulevard, High St have recently undergone a 10 week refurbishment to transform a former snooker hall to offer duckpin bowling.

Formerly Rack n Roll, the bowling alley have expanded to fill two floors of the unit situated next to Vue cinema and brings a brand new bowling concept to its customers.

Duckpin bowling uses small, light balls, and lighter pins which make it suitable for small children as young as three.

The newly-renovated bowling alley features four lanes and a bar that will serve hot food and drinks, including platters and alcoholic drinks.

Lymelight Boulevard complex is home to a number of entertainment outlets in the town including Vue cinema, Break Free Escape Rooms Go Wild and Reel Games.

A spokesperson for Lymelight Boulevard says: “Tenpin bowling is still open upstairs. This is more family-friendly and suitable for ages three and upwards. It can be more challenging because it uses smaller balls and smaller pins.

“The pool tables had not taken off as a family-friendly activity. We looked at what is trending. It’s about attracting families to Newcastle. We are also on the lookout for new attractions.”

Duckpin bowling is £7 for adults and £6 for children with 20% off available for students.  Kids can also bowl for £1 every Thursday and Friday with a full paying adult (terms and conditions apply).

Lymelight Lanes is open from 12pm to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
