Continental Street Market returns to Newcastle-under-Lyme

Visiting Continental Street Traders will be serving-up tastes from the Continent – A feast for the eyes and the taste buds is coming to Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre.

A Continental Street Market is to take place over four days which will give shoppers the chance to sample food and flavours from other cultures as well as the opportunity to buy artisan craft-work and other unusual pieces.

It’s the perfect time of year to be able to sample these wonderful continental flavours – and enjoy them right here on our doorstep! The street market will have an array of delicious hot and cold food to spice up your day as well as speciality take-away delicacies you can enjoy at home

The diverse food on offer will include Asian flavours such as Thai noodles, Gyros (kebab-style delicacies) from Greece, sweet and satisfying Baklava, rich freshly-ground coffee, Mediterranean olives and a variety of cheeses.

There will also be a selection of artisan craft items available on the market.

The Council has brought in RR Events to run the event as a safe and fun market for residents and visitors.

The market will run 10am to 6pm from Wednesday 15 July to Saturday 18 July and will be located near to Lancaster Building on High Street.. Around 20 stalls are expected in addition to our General, Antique and Farmer’s Market.

For safety reasons a road closure will be in place for the duration of the market. Hygienic and distancing measures will be in-place


Friday Farmer’s Market in Newcastle-under-Lyme

It’s back from 9am to 3.30pm on Friday 17 July in the fantastic new location alongside the historic Guildhall.

Our Monthly farmer’s Market will offer fresh, local and healthy food for all. The selection of fabulous food from our farmers market producers include fresh homegrown vegetables, organic and free range meat and eggs, hand made pies, cheese and homemade cakes. There’s new traders joining all of the time so come along on the day to discover the full range for sale.

Our very first Sunday Record Fair at Newcastle-under-Lyme Market

Newcastle-under-Lyme Markets and Cannonball Records are bringing a Record Fair to The Stones in the historic Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre from 10am to 3.30pm on on Sunday 26 July 2020.

There will be thousands of records and CDs and dealers from across the UK specialising in Soul, Rock, Jazz, pop, folk and much more.

The HitMix 107.5 FM will also be there bringing their popular Roadshow to the town centre to spread positive vibes and to create a buzzing marketplace with top tunes for all of the family. Safe fun guaranteed!

We have over 25 tables of musical bargains and rarities with everything from Abba to Zappa,, specialist dealers selling Soul imports, rare Jazz, Rock n Roll, Metal and Classical.

Cannonball Records have decades experience in the collectable vinyl record market. Owner David Hawkins has been a regular guest on BBC Radio with a vinyl record valuation show as well as numerous guest appearances. Dave also writes for publications such as the Daily Telegraph.

Cannonball has expertise in all genres including Rock, Pop, Jazz, Folk, Soul, Classical, Folk, contemporary an many more genres.

Holding many events in the Midlands, Staffordshire and Shropshire it’s the first time it has landed at Newcastle-under-Lyme.
