Midsummer Street Food Party Comes to Goose Street with Tuck In

Following the success of the first Tuck In event over the May Bank Holiday weekend,  Newcastle-Under-Lyme based events company Gotolive are returning to Goose Street car park to bring a midsummer, open air party this July.

The team behind events including Manchester Pride, the Elrow and UK Festival Awards are aiming to put Newcastle-under-Lyme on the map with their second street food and music party starting on Friday 23rd July and over the weekend.

Jess Webb, one of the directors of Gotolive who launched the Tuck In brand earlier this year with business partner Georgia Beretta wanted to bring a cool city vibe to the area so that people don’t need to go further a field to bigger cities for this kind of event.

Georgia said:  “Basically, we’re creating an event where it’s all about the food, casual dining and good times. We’ve got various street food traders, an open-air bar, and we’ll have DJ’s playing throughout the day.

“Think of it as a pop-up beer garden with loads of different food to choose from. You’ll be able to book your table at the time that suits you and your group. It’s child and dog friendly too so there’s no need to get a babysitter or pet-sitter, come to that.”

Newcastle based deli, Sando joins the food line up for the second time, alongside Bun’d, Leekeardutch, Twiss, That Smoke Truck, Wat Wok for an international fusion of street food which also caters for vegetarians and vegans.

Despite Covid restrictions being lifted prior to July 23rd, the team at Tuck In confirmed that the event will still take precautions to ensure that attendees can enjoy the atmosphere whilst staying  socially distanced from other tables.   The event is table service/card only with all food and drink orderable via an app, meaning attendees just need to sit back and enjoy themselves – hopefully with some sun!

Jess added “It feels so good to be talking about live events again, after a year of not being able to go out and socialise with friends and family, we feel this is much needed.”

Ticket prices start at £14 for a table for two and you can book a table for two, four or six people which guarantees admission to the event for 3 hours.

Doors open at 4pm on the Friday with the first sitting on the Saturday and Sunday from 12pm.

You can follow Tuck In on Instagram at @tuckin.uk

The party start doesn’t begin and end at Goose Street.  Following each three hour table slot, Tuck In attendees are encouraged to head back into the town centre to visit Newcastle’s various bars and eateries.  From gin bars, craft ale houses and cocktail establishments, there’s plenty of places to extend your evening and discover your new favourite local hot spot.
